We work with creative and media agencies producing high-end commercials for their clients, and directly with brands who want to own the production relationship. In both cases we prefer to be at the table while the script is still being written, not once it is time to shoot.
Absolutely, and we're used to it. We know how to come in as the production partner without stepping on the creative. We protect the brief all the way through to delivery. We're also happy to be involved earlier: developing treatments, locations and casting from day one.
It starts with a proper creative alignment. From there: pre-production, shoot, post. We're obsessive about every stage. One team handles the whole process, no handoffs, no creative drift.
We make the film, but a great film only works when the right people see it. That is why we work closely with <a href="https://www.studioguru.nl" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Studio Guru</a>, a trusted media partner who makes sure your ROKU-produced video actually lands with your target audience. The result: not just a strong film, but one that genuinely performs.
For a commercial or branded film: reckon on 4 to 10 weeks from creative alignment to delivery, depending on scale. Rush timing is possible, just ask. If you need it by Friday, that is also possible. It will cost more and we will sleep less, but it is possible.
Yes, we do. We use it for concepting and previsualisation, and we also produce films entirely with AI, from concept to delivery. Have a look at our spec ad about skin cancer under our projects; that one was made this way.
We handle the full post pipeline, editing, colour grading, sound design and motion graphics. A lot is done in-house, and where it isn't, we work with a trusted pool of freelance specialists who excel in their craft. Either way, we own the quality from first frame to final deliverable.

About
ROKU Films started in 2016 as a one-man company with two branches: video production and performing arts, as an actor. So not just an affinity with everything behind the scenes, but with the part in front of it too. That acting background (four years of full-time film acting school, from 2012 to 2016) means we have known how to direct people on camera since day one. Every technical and creative note it takes to guide someone in front of a lens comes from there. The technical side has been there since 2009. YouTube videos back then, high-end commercials with full crews now. Everything in between we file under tuition.
Robert Kuipers, a graduated film actor and self-taught director and director of photography, has shot countless productions over the years: for ROKU Films as producer and director, and for other production houses as a DP (see that work here). With his technical knowledge, acting experience, production background, an office in Amsterdam-Duivendrecht and a large network of cast and crew, no production is out of reach. It is exactly that knowledge of every discipline, plus a well-trained eye for detail, that makes us excel in delivery.
Cinematography PortfolioWe use AI. Quite a lot, actually. For concepting, previsualisation, editing, and testing ideas faster. It helps us move quicker and work smarter. We also produce films entirely with AI. From concept to delivery, no camera and no shoot day. There is an example of that in our portfolio. We also produce complete photo campaigns with AI. Get in touch and we will gladly show you an example. But let's be honest. AI still doesn't make a great commercial without someone who knows what they're doing. In the end it still comes down to the idea, taste, timing, and making the right calls within it. The tools change. The craft doesn't.
